Abstract

The aim of the present research is to investigate the possibility and position of cultivating thinking based on Islamic educational philosophy, relying on the views of the Supreme Wisdom and emphasizing the interpretation of Allamah Tabatabai, on television media using inferential and thematic analysis methods. This qualitative research was conducted in two qualitative sections. In the first section, based on the theoretical literature of the research on the concept and purpose of thinking - which has been inferred in another study - the basic components of thinking were reconstructed using Frankena's method of inference. In the second section, an attempt was made to investigate the possibility of developing thinking in television based on the propositions of the quiddity, the purpose, and the components of thinking, using the views of experts in the field of media and education, and then using the " content analysis" method for analyzing.Based on the results of the first part, basic components of thinking are; Sensual thinking, creative imagination and logical-argumentative thinking. The results of the research in the second part addresses the network of subjects extracted from the experts' point of view including "Television; The place of Thinking training " and "Television; The intermediary position of Thinking training " and "Television; the lack of position in thinking cultivation ". Overall, based on the analysis of the implications and based on the theoretical literature of the research, the position of television in Thinking training is; "Educational assistance in an educational system based on stimulation and openness" which is identified five fundamental principles for them, which include : the assistant relationship with the traditional educational institution, the preliminary and stimulation role in the process of Thinking training, the extent of openness in the process of moving from manifestation to concealment, dealing with threats in the television-audience dualism, and designing structure based on opportunity-oriented and active audience.
