Abstract

The Iranian education system, through the formulation of a document titled the "Fundamental Reform Document of Education" as a roadmap, has endeavored to take a fundamental step toward delineating a desirable vision and realizing the foundational infrastructures for comprehensive excellence of the country across various domains. Accordingly, to achieve this objective, it has provided a comprehensive classification of the dimensions and spheres (sahat) of education. One of the spheres addressed in the document is education in the economic and professional domain, whose roots and precedents can be traced in Islamic texts and documents. The purpose of the present study is to re-examine the "economic education" sphere of the Fundamental Reform Document based on " Treatise on Rights "  and "Al-Sahifa al-Sajjadiyya.This research has been conducted using a qualitative method through content analysis. The findings of this study indicate that the economic education system of Imam Sajjad (ʿA) possesses a comprehensiveness that encompasses all aspects of economic life and can serve as an effective foundation for educational reforms aligned with the objectives of the Fundamental Reform Document. It can also contribute to the development of educational approaches within Iran's education system. The results further emphasize that initiating economic education from childhood stages is essential to establish correct and sustainable financial behaviors in the future. Moreover, economic education in this system integrates spiritual, ethical, and economic dimensions, and possesses the capability for implementation and application in the areas of production, distribution, and consumption through cognitive (binishi), attitudinal (negāreshi), competency-based (tavāneshi), and value-oriented (arzeshī) approaches. This research suggests that integrating religious and educational teachings with modern educational approaches can play an effective role in enhancing the quality of economic education within the education system.
